Concrete Stains and Dyes
"Acid Staining" has come a LONG way!  It's now more commonly referred to as Stained Concrete.  Acid Staining is a reactive process used when the applicator knows the slab contains no fillers such as fly ash. Fillers do not react and can create a splochy result.

These photos represent what can be done with NON-Acid, Acid Stains and Dyes, there are many more photos of local metro projects that were completed with stains and dyes.  Check out the tabs at the top of this page.

Non-Acid, Acid stains....  These are primarily transparent acrylic stains and floor dyes.  In the hands of a professional applicator, they can create incredible flooring effects.

Traditional acid stains are only available in about a dozen earth tones.  They work by reacting with the concrete to permently stain it.  If there are areas where the concrete will not react, these areas stay uncolored or will turn stark white.  Yuck !  New, non-acid stains are not reactive materials.  They will not fail where the concrete is less than perfect.  They allow the applicator to add additional colors, darken areas post the initial application and have much more control over a beautiful, flawless installation.

The pics above show, (on the left), a floor stained with acrylic stains, the other pic shows a Smiths floor which uses extremely fine particles to achieve this effect.  On the left, the floor was sealed with water based floor sealers, on the right it was sealed with 2 coats of solvent based acrylic floor sealer.  The variagated, mottled look was achieved without the introduction of any acid fumes into the home.  This is important where the space(s) around the unit are occupied.  Acid fumes are toxic.  Using these GREEN stains keeps these fumes from leaching into surrounding properties.  A MUCH better solution than traditional Acid Stains. Amazing Garages is an expert in the use and application of these materials.

Available in a wide color range as these stains can even be combined to achieve custom colors."
