Acid Staining has come a LONG way!

These photos represent what can be done with NON-Acid, Acid Stains.  (???).  Thats right, non-Acid, Acid stains....  These are transparent acrylic stains.  In the hands of a professional applicator, they can create incredible flooring effects. 

Traditional acid stains are only available in about a dozen earth tones.  They work by reacting with the concrete to permently stain it.  If there are areas where the concrete will not react, these areas turn stark white.  Yuck !  New, non-acid stains are not reactive materials.  They will not fail where the concrete is less than perfect.  They allow the applicator to add additional colors, darken areas post the initial application and have much more control over a beautiful, flawless installation.

The pics above show, (on the left), a cleaned and opened concrete surface. (Note how the floor appears white and the cracks are dark lines).  On the right, after the intial application has dried, you can see how the floor looks as if it has been acid stained. (Darker floor with whitish cracks).  The variagated, mottled look was achieved without the introduction of any acid fumes into the space.  This is important where the space(s) around the unit are occupied.  Acid fumes are toxic.  Using these GREEN stains keeps these fumes from leaching into surrounding properties.  A MUCH better solution than traditional Acid Stains. Amazing Garages is an expert in the use and application of these materials.
